The Double Girder Gantry Crane is a medium to heavy-duty track-traveling crane, commonly used with a winch or trolley as the lifting device. It is suitable for loads of 5 to 10 tons and spans of 18 to 35 meters, operating within a temperature range of -20°C to +40°C and available in duty classes A5, A6, and A7.
As a type of bridge crane, its structure is supported on ground rails by outriggers on both sides. The main components include the gantry frame, a trolley travel mechanism, a lifting trolley, and the electrical system. A variation known as the semi-gantry crane features an outrigger on only one side, with the other side supported by a workshop structure or trestle.
The gantry is structurally composed of the upper bridge (main girder and end beams), outriggers, and lower crossbeams. To increase its operational range, the main beam can be extended beyond the outriggers on one or both sides, forming a cantilever. Alternatively, a lifting trolley equipped with a pitching/rotating boom can be used to achieve greater coverage.
